Maps
The brand new map of the campus of Buffalo State University is currently being drawn. The campus is a dense collection of academic and residential buildings of varied architecture, numerous plazas, and many paved paths. There is virtually no elevation change throughout the area.

Delaware Park has been used annually for an event, the "Cherry Blossom Challenge" organized by BFLO. Although not overly large, the area we are using has a good variety of features which will require making subtle route choice decisions at high speed. The terrain is very runnable. The park was designed by the noted landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Both maps will be drawn to the current ISSprOM standards at a scale of 1:4,000 with a contour interval of 2.5 meters. We have heard the entreaties for a map scale of 1:3,000 for older competitors and are inclined in that direction.

Embargoes

orienteering in the closed venue shall not be eligible for competition, awards, or rankings, but they may nevertheless participate in the event."
